    Once your money arrives into CurrencyFair, it's time to exchange. You can exchange instantly at the best rate available on CurrencyFair at that time, or you can choose a better rate and wait for it. You're in complete control.

    Transfer the money to the recipient

    Once your money is exchanged, you can send it to the recipient. We charge a very small fee at this stage, only €3.00 (or equivalent). The money will arrive safely in the recipient's bank account in just a couple of days.

How long does it take for my money to reach my CurrencyFair account?

Sending in Euro typically takes 2 business days, while GBP Faster Payments and CHAPS typically reach us on the same business day. All other currencies will be sent using a bank transfer, which can take up to 5 business days to reach us, depending on the currency. Click here to view our estimated processing times.

What fees apply for sending in money to my CurrencyFair account?

It’s free to send money into your CurrencyFair account. However, it’s important to point out that your bank may charge fees for sending in money. Should you have specific queries on any fees that may apply, we recommend you contact your bank for clarification.

Do I need to verify my account?

As a regulated financial services company, we need to verify your identity. We try to do this when you are registering via “Electronic Verification” means, however when this is not possible, you will need to send us a copy of your passport and/or driver's licence in addition to two proofs of address. You can upload your ID and address documents here.

What payment types can I use?

You can send money from your bank account to the CurrencyFair bank account via a bank transfer. We also accept debit card payments, but only for Irish debit cards. Once we have received your money, we will send you an email to confirm that your money has been received, allowing you to start exchanging.
