International Migrants Day

December 11, 2014

Here at CurrencyFair we have customers from over 70 countries across the globe. Many are living outside of their birth country or moving around different countries for work or holidays.

18 December is marked as International Migrants Day,  appointed by the General Assembly of United Nations on December 4, 2000 taking into account the large and increasing number of migrants in the world. International Migrants Day  raises awareness for people who are living in less fortunate situations, that’s why we are big fans of International Migrants Day.

As you can see from the infographic below, there are an estimated 214 million international migrants living around the world. Many of our customers use CurrencyFair to transfer their money home to cover expenses such mortgages or to exchange their pension to the currency of the county they have migrated to. The estimate remittance sent by migrants in 2010 was $440 billion.

We at CurrencyFair want to help expats exchange their money easier, faster and cheaper. Come join our Facebook page to learn more about CurrencyFair where we post interesting articles, and post messages about up-coming events that we will be attending, where you can meet us.
