Important – Our Hungarian Forint (HUF) bank account has changed.
You can find the new account details on your CurrencyFair account by selecting CurrencyFair Bank Accounts from the main menu. Our new HUF account is held in the United Kingdom.
What does this mean for you?
- If you are sending in HUF to your CurrencyFair account, you will need to update your payee details with your bank, and ask your bank to instruct an international wire (SWIFT) transfer to our new account. Your bank may charge you a fee for this, and the funds may also arrive in your CurrencyFair account less a small intermediary bank fee. Your bank will be able to provide you with more information about these fees.
- If you are receiving HUF into your CurrencyFair account from a third party, you will need to provide the sender with our new account details, and they will need to transfer via international wire (SWIFT) transfer. As above, there may be a sending fee as well as an intermediary bank fee.
Please note, your bank may default to converting your funds from HUF to GBP due to the fact that our account is in the United Kingdom. You must ensure that the funds are not converted from HUF.
- If you are transferring HUF from your CurrencyFair account to another bank account, your transfer should be sent and received within the usual time frame of 1-2 business days with no extra fees.
If you have already sent money to our existing account, we will still receive it. Our existing HUF account will remain open until Friday 3rd March, so if you have sent to the account before that date, we will clear it to your CurrencyFair account as normal.
